COVID-19 Practices

After requiring all Gestational Carriers to be fully vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19, or at least willing to be vaccinated before matching with Intended Parents (since 2021), we have realized that due to the rapidly changing circumstances surrounding COVID, the agency is NOT requiring all surrogates to be vaccinated in order to be matched with Intended Parents.

Many fertility clinics are allowing COVID-unvaccinated carriers to move forward as well.  Not all fertility clinics will accept unvaccinated carriers, but carriers who are not vaccinated (or are not willing to be) will be matched with Intended Parents who are working with clinics who DO accept unvaccinated carriers.  Keep in mind that this will limit the pool of Intended Parents/Clinics that an unvaccinated GC will be allowed to work with, but we believe it is up to the discretion of the medical professionals involved to be able to ultimately make this decision along with the Intended Parents.

We still strongly urge all applicants to be vaccinated against COVID, the flu, and all other infectious diseases for which vaccines are available.  For more information, please contact the CDC here for current information.
